It takes a truly special product to make headlines in the cigar world, but our work for Davidoff Oro Blanco is doing just that. Retailing at $500 each – making it the world’s most expensive cigar – Oro Blanco is strictly limited edition, created entirely from tobacco harvested in 2002, and aged for thirteen years.

We created an identity, story, packaging, design, and total communications concept. Working with the highest possible quality materials, we forged a concept inspired by the purest form of Oro Blanco – the precious white gold.

Light and shade are carefully balanced. Dark walnut veneer boxes are finished with aluminium edging and an elegant motif that plays on the sun’s rays and a watch face, tying in with Davidoff’s philosophy of Time Beautifully Filled.

Oro Blanco’s photography also deliberately highlights the cigar’s striking white and white gold bands – burnished for the first time ever with Master Blender Eladio Diaz’ signature – against the darkest of backgrounds. A staged reveal of the brand on social media built up some serious anticipation.

Working with the absolutely highest quality materials was an absolute delight, and it’s been shortlisted in the Luxury Packaging Awards 2015. We hope you like it as much as we do. And there’s more soon to come, with a new Davidoff line setting the summer ablaze. Watch this space…
